What’s the best way to learn how to mitigate a catastrophic water loss? You can read about it, watch videos, or even flood your own basement (we don’t recommend it 😊). However, nothing can replace being in the situation to dry a real flooded house, learn from the best experts in the industry, and ultimately get your IICRC certifications. IICRC is the Institute for Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certifications.

These IICRC-approved ASD (Applied Structural Damage) training centers are completely furnished homes built over a concrete slab foundation using various common building materials. The only thing “different” about this 1,800 square-foot home from those you work in every day is that it has a classroom attached.

We’ve simulated hundreds of catastrophic water losses by flooding them with over 1,500 gallons of water. Water will rain from the first floor into the finished basement and crawlspace. We then seal the home for 36 hours in an 85-degree environment to create a “terrarium effect.” This is the worst-case scenario for any homeowner. Despite that, all affected materials will be dried and saved.

WRT | Water Damage Restoration Technician
This is a base-level certification and is required for anyone who wants to perform remediation work and understand water damage, techniques for drying structures, and on-site safety protocols.
ASD | Applied Structural Drying
This certification covers the effective, timely drying of water-damaged structures and its contents within a restorative drying environment. It’s beneficial to restorers that have been certified in WRT and understand water-damaged environments and safety protocols.
AMRT | Applied Microbial Remediation Technician
This certification includes mold and sewage remediation techniques. It’s beneficial to anyone involved with property management, restoration, IEQ investigation, or related professions.
You’ll get a classroom and hands-on experience in a realistic home environment.
